Pop Life: Art in a Material World Exhibit
September 19, 2010

National Gallery of Canada
380 Sussex Dr.
Ottawa
(613) 990-1985

This exhibit begins with Andy Warhol's notorious provocation that "good business is the best art." The exhibit explores how the work of high-profile artists like Warhol, Jeff Koons and Damien Hirst negotiate the relationship between contemporary art, commerce, marketing and mass media. Pop Life then looks ahead to the work of a number of artists who have openly engaged with the cult of celebrity and unashamedly championed the idea of turning public attention into aesthetic notoriety and financial reward.

DAILY at 1:00 p.m.

Ten minute Pop Talks take place in front of one work in the exhibition. The daily schedule is posted. Free with admission to the exhibition.
