| A: |  | A Registered Graphic Designer and R.G.D. is a graphic design practitioner, manager or educator who has met the Association's qualification criteria and has been granted the right to use these professional designations. No one else may use the designations Registered Graphic Designer or R.G.D. Persons in Ontario who are not Registered Graphic Designers are not excluded from practising graphic design. The R.G.D. and Registered Graphic Designer designations are signals of quality and competence to the profession, the public, and the government. |

| A: |  | RGD Ontario and the Examination Board for Registered Graphic Designers are responsible for personal information under our control and have policies and procedures to protect the integrity and privacy of any personal information that is collected, used, disclosed, retained and destroyed in the course of your transactions, activities, applications, membership, status or affiliation with us. Personal information is collected for purposes of conducting the business affairs, administration, management and the execution of other programs and activities of both organizations, including any actions or work for compliance with laws and bylaws, membership processing, exam administration, member regulation, event registration, information dissemination, database maintenance, payments and collections. Media used to collect personal information will state that by providing said information, persons have thus explicitly and implicitly consented to its use for the stated purposes.
The information collected, such as first and last name, title, gender, business name, business and home address, telephone, fax, email address, web site, area of specialty, educational background, details of work experience including names of employers with address, telephone, fax, email address, job title and dates of employment is necessary for the purposes stated above. The information is collected by means of the owner of the information voluntarily filling out forms in various media and/or when given orally on a voluntary basis and freely over the telephone or in person.
Members of RGD Ontario have online access to their personal information and may update, amend, augment or correct it at anytime, or they may contact us by any means and request same. Members also may opt in or out of making their information available on the RGD Ontario website, or for receiving occasional news, information, offers or promotions from third-party sponsors or organizations.
